Issue: TRANSMISSION COULD SHIFT OUT OF PARK
NTHSA recall documents indicate that pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
There is no fix yet.
The recall is expected to begin February 8, 2018.
FCA has been investigating the issue since March 2017 following a complaint about a 2016 truck that resulted in a driver injury.

My 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 did this. It was in PARK and several seconds later it shifted itself into drive. I have 2 witnesses to this event. I caused an accident and an injury. It is a rare event so naturally it does not do it every time. I feel it is highly dangerous.
